Connect a custom domain to web hosting

Start in the dashboard

1. 1Open the web server management page.
2. 2Choose the custom-domain option.
3. 3Enter the hostname you want to connect.
4. 4Copy the verification and routing DNS values shown by the dashboard.
5. 5Add those records at your DNS provider.
6. 6Return to the dashboard and run the verification/check action.

DNS rules

The web backend validates ownership and routing before activating a custom domain. Use the exact hostnames and values shown for your server because verification tokens are generated per claim.

• Do not proxy or rewrite records unless the dashboard specifically allows it.
• Remove conflicting A, AAAA, or CNAME records for the same hostname if they point somewhere else.
• DNS changes can take time to propagate even after they are saved.

If verification fails

• Check spelling, especially the verification record name.
• Make sure the record is published on the correct DNS zone.
• Check for an old conflicting record on the same hostname.
• Wait for DNS propagation, then run the check again.
• Contact support with the domain name and dashboard error if the public DNS values are correct but activation still fails.
