Why the panel says there are no slots
Pterodactyl only allows as many stored backups as the server's backup feature limit. A standard credit-based server can start with zero backup slots depending on the service type, so the panel may correctly refuse a backup even though the Backups page is visible.
Add backup slots
- 1Go back to xsystemshosting.com and open the server management page.
- 2Find Resource Upgrades.
- 3Add one or more Backup Slots.
- 4Confirm the displayed cost or Unlimited action.
- 5Return to Hydrodactyl and refresh the server.
- 6Create the backup from the Backups area.
Current upgrade cost
For standard bot servers, each backup slot adds 1 credit/day up to the configured 20-slot cap. For web servers, each backup slot adds 2 credits/day up to the configured 10-slot cap. The dashboard is authoritative if the live configuration changes.
If all slots are already used
- Download an old backup first if you still need a copy.
- Delete an old backup you no longer need, then create a new one.
- Or add another backup slot from Resource Upgrades if the server has not reached its cap.
